AAPACN NAC-EAP

The Nurse Assessment Coordinator-Expert Advisory Panel (NAC-EAP) is a voluntary group of interdisciplinary team (IDT) professionals who represent various aspects of the care and services provided in the SNF with knowledge and expertise that is relevant to supporting the success of the NAC and IDT in the RAI/MDS 3.0 and Medicare process. The purpose of this panel is to inspire the creation of professional development certification, education, training, and resources.

Responsibilities of NAC-EAP Members

  • Collaborate virtually with other SNF experts and the AAPACN team for approximately one and half hour meeting per month to brainstorm solutions that will be beneficial to NACs and IDT members.
  • Must be able to attend a minimum of 80% of conference calls, unless the panel is aware of a scheduling conflict in advance.
  • Share their knowledge, experiences, and expertise to advance the AAPACN mission and help each member be successful in their role.
  • Represent the long-term care interdisciplinary team (e.g., NACs, directors of nursing services, therapists, licensed social workers, activities directors, dieticians, administrators, corporate executives, consultants, etc.)

Qualifications of NAC-EAP Members

  • Be an AAPACN member in good standing.
  • Possess expert level knowledge of skilled nursing facilities.
  • Have experience as a volunteer with AAPACN, including a current or past provider of expertise to AAPACN as either a Master Teacher, Leader for the NAC newsletter contributor, AAPACN committee or taskforce member, AAPACN Connect online discussion contributor, conference speaker, editorial advisor, course writer/reviewer, webinar presenter, previous EAP or expert advisory board member, business partner, training partner, podcast guest speaker, and/or past AAPACN Board member.
  • Have an understanding of the AAPACN education and certification programs.
  • Want to empower AAPACN members and can commit to two-ten hours of service per month.

Terms of NAC-EAP Membership

The committee member term runs for two years (July 1 through June 30) and can be renewed for a maximum of six years, with an exception for individuals elected to the Chair or Vice Chair positions. The Chair and Vice Chair serve in their respective positions for a maximum of two
years. The six-year term limitation does not accrue during a panel member’s time spent as Chair and Vice Chair. Members who have served the maximum amount of time on the committee can reapply to the committee after one year. Members not in good standing on the committee can be asked to step down by the panel and/or the AAPACN CEO.
