Achieving desired Quality Measure (QM) outcomes is a lot like baking a loaf of sourdough bread—it takes time and patience, and so many variables can change the end result. Just as a baker must pay keen attention to the ingredients and measurements used, the nurse assessment coordinator (NAC) must also give careful consideration to each QM’s specifications and methodology. During this 75-minute webinar, AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Jessie McGill, RN, BSN, RAC-MT, RAC-MTA, will guide learners through the basics of QM calculations, how to apply definitions and methodology, and how to use this information in quality improvement efforts.
After participating in this webinar, learners will be able to:
- Recognize how the numerator, denominator, exclusions, and covariates are used to calculate a QM
- Utilize the MDS 3.0 Quality Measures User’s Manual to apply the methodology for a QM
- Identify how understanding the specifications and methodology will assist in quality improvement efforts
