About AADNS

American Association of Directors of Nursing Services

The American Association of Directors of Nursing Services (AADNS) is dedicated to leading and empowering DONs/DNSs with best-in-class education, resources, legislative representation, and a strong collaborative community that advocates for and ensures resident-directed long-term and post-acute care communities. The sister association of AANAC, AADNS launched in 2016 as a way to support DONs and other nurse leaders, therefore complementing the information and knowledge of MDS leaders.

AADNS provides members with 24/7 access to online resources, training tool kits, a peer-to-peer community, the SOM, and other pertinent government sources documents. Our education is developed to help nurse leaders excel at any stage of their career. The Director of Nursing Services–Certified (DNS-CT) certification is the best in the field, going beyond nursing school education and incorporating real-life leadership, management, and facility success skills training. AADNS members find value in their membership by receiving up-to-date information on important topics, including:

  • Corporate compliance
  • Risk management
  • Human resources
  • Survey management and preparedness
  • Clinical surveillance of nursing systems
  • Infection prevention and control

Whether you are a nurse leader in long-term care or a business that supports the LTC field, you will benefit by becoming involved with AADNS.
