AAPACN 2020 Virtual Conference FAQs

AAPACN 2020 Virtual Conference FAQs

Conference Registration

Q: Why are you rescheduling to a virtual event rather than rescheduling the in-person conference to later in the year?
A: With the current uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe that a virtual conference is the only venue in which we can provide a learning environment that is safe to you and to your residents.

Q: Why are some of the preconference workshops still in April but the conference in June?
A: Because many attendees were counting on the April workshop in order to recertify or to get ICD-10 education needed under PDPM, we decided to offer these preconference workshops virtually in April.

Q: Can I get a full refund on the conference registration?
A: If you cancel by May 18, you’ll receive a full refund. After May 18, there is a $50 cancellation fee.

Q: What happens if I plan to attend the virtual conference but there is a crisis in my facility that day? What if I can’t make the new virtual conference dates?
A: All of the sessions will be recorded and provided to you after the event for you to view at a more convenient time.

Q: Why is the price for the virtual conference the same as the live event?
A: The virtual conference will include most of the same sessions and speakers as were planned for the in-person event. All attendees will receive recordings of every session. Unlike an in-person event, you will be able to attend every breakout session so you will have the opportunity to receive more than 30 CEs.

Q: Will the virtual conference have the same sessions and speakers?
A: Yes, the majority of sessions and speakers are the same. AAPACN has invited CMS representatives to speak at the virtual conference. Most of the speakers will be available for live Q&A during their sessions as well.

Preconference Workshops

Q: What if I can’t attend one of the virtual workshops in April – can I get a refund?
A: If you can’t attend in April, you’ll receive the recording of your workshop, which you can view at a more convenient time.

Q:  Can I transfer my preconference payment to the online RAC-CT recertification and get a refund on the balance?
A:  You can transfer into the online RAC-CT recertification course for the same registration fee as the virtual workshop.

Q: What is the status of the QCP Preconference Workshop?
A: The QCP Preconference Workshop will not be rescheduled or presented virtually. If you were registered for this preconference, AAPACN will contact you to discuss options. We encourage those interested in QCP to attend a workshop later this summer with an AAPACN training partner or to enroll in the online certification program.

Q: I am an invited speaker, and I have a reservation for air travel to Atlanta for the April conference dates. Do I need to cancel my reservation, or will this be done for me?
A: If you made your reservation with the hotel, then you will need to contact them directly to cancel. If AAPACN made your reservation, then we will process the cancellation.

Q: Will my session be automatically rescheduled for the new virtual conference?
A: Yes, we will email information to you on the rescheduling within the next week.

Q: What if I cannot reschedule for those dates?
A: We will work with you to set up a time to pre-record your session.
